I'll Soon Be Walking

Big city with the young girls walking

Been wearing dirty shirts and stockings

Got thirty-five cents in my pocket

But that won't quite cut it for laundry day

Yeah, I got no money, but that's okay.

I been walking alone all weekend

Go to town but don't feel like leaving

With anybody asking and pleading

For something that won't make it anyway

Yeah I got nobody, but that's okay.

"Cause I'm living where the moon is shining

Through the pouring rain

Stay up all night,

Sleep half the day.

Yeah, I'm living where the hills are shining

Under sunny rays

Don't need anybody

Making any shade.

And it's hard to say

If he's worth wanting

He never pays and does too much talking

And if he stays

I'll soon be walking anyway

I keep roaming around, keep rambling

These random roommates are like gambling

I could always move back with the family

But I'll just keep wandering from place to place

Yeah I got no remedy, but that's okay.

'Cause I'm living where the moon is shining

Through the pouring rain

Stay up all night,

Sleep half the day.

Yeah, I'm living where the hills are shining

Under sunny rays

Don't need anybody

Making any shade.

And it's hard to say

If he's worth wanting

He never pays and does too much talking

And if he stays

Well, I'll soon be walking anyway

And I know you say you want me

But I just don't feel the same

And I know you say you love me

But I'm just sittin' in the car unfazed.

There are few things I love more than going into the recording studio, working on my songs with friends, and making something new to share with you.

What's the Use?

1.  What's the Use?

2.  Plastic Heart

These were really the first songs I ever wrote, and the first time I recorded one of my songs properly.  They're still some of my favorite recordings.

Passing Russell Square

1.  Penny Jar

2.  Words

3.  Maisy

One song about my time living abroad, another about the changing nature of words, and a short vignette about the only cat I ever liked, who passed away just after I wrote it.

Gone

Advice From Strangers

1.  Advice From Strangers

I love old psychedelia and wanted to record a song with that type of production.  Big, swirly echoes behind my voice, fuzzy guitars, and over-the-top drums. You may even be able to hear me reading lines from James Joyce's "Ulysses" in the background.
